COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT
Our community engagement programme enables adults, from parents and extended family to neighbourhoods and local governments to prioritise the rights and needs of the youngest citizens of India.
The lack of knowledge, resources and regressive patriarchal norms within communities causes irreversible damage in the early years of a child's life, restricting their ability to thrive as responsible citizens of the future.

Despite Anganwadi services being the worlds largest early childhood development programme, the optimal growth and development of India's young marginalised children continues to suffer due to inequitable access.
Mobile Creches elevates the urgency of ECD across programmes, policies and laws by working collaboratively with decision makers from the grassroots to national and global levels. We draw on our learnings and evidence from working with communities, businesses, governments, NGOs and other stakeholders to create systemic change.

A Beacon of Hope for Jashpur - Sundarsai

Nestled in the remote hills of Jashpur, Chhattisgarh, where basic amenities are a luxury, Sundarsai, a Sarpanch and community leader has become a driving force for change for the children and families of his village.
“Every child deserves the chance to learn,” he says. But his vision extends beyond education — it extends to improving infrastructure and connecting his community to government schemes that can transform their lives.
Sundarsai’s efforts come alive in the Gram Sabha meetings, where he encourages women to voice their concerns. “When women speak, the entire community benefits,” he shares with a smile. Under his leadership, these meetings are platforms for collective decision-making, ensuring that government schemes are implemented effectively and development grants are used wisely for the village’s progress.
One of Sundarsai’s passionate goals is to establish a crèche in every village within his Panchayat. He understands that early childhood development is the foundation for a child’s future.
His dedication bore fruit when, under his leadership, a new crèche was inaugurated in Kere village. For the first time, mothers in the village could go to work without worrying about their children’s safety and care. The center has become a haven for young children, providing nutrition, early education, and a safe environment to grow and learn.
Sundarsai’s relentless efforts holds a promise that he will lead sustainable change, as he inspires others in his community to make long lasting impact on the lives of women and children.
